Job summary

Elis is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to lead driver teams and optimise routes to reduce carbon footprint while ensuring safe, compliant operations. This role focuses on health and safety regulations, budget monitoring, and data-driven improvements across daily logistics activities.

You will oversee driver training, conduct compliance checks, and deputise for the Logistics Manager when required. Strong IT skills and English communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• CPC and Category C Licence.
• 2–3 years of supervisory experience desirable.
• IT literate with good written and verbal English.
• Strong attention to detail and data interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop all driver staff daily, including safety training and driver assessments.
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed and vehicles comply with site standards.
• Perform daily compliance checks on vehicles, drivers, and licences (O-licence, EU, etc.).
• Develop, propose and monitor the functional logistics budget with the Logistics Manager.
• Investigate and resolve logistics issues using systems like Webfleet, SOL WMS, and Vision.

The Opportunity

Ensure route optimisation savings are achieved using route optimisation resource so that they are profitable and contribute to the reduction of our carbon footprint to achieve our Corporate Social objectives.

Lead, manage, control and development of personnel for all driver staff daily which include: Health and Safety training, disciplinary's, driver assessments, driver infringements. You are to ensure the team delivers a high standard of customer service to every customer.

Ensure all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to and drivers are compliant with the site standard, i.e. complete thorough vehicle checks daily.

You will carry out accurate compliance checks daily on vehicles and drivers with O licence, site, EU and other legal requirements.

Develop, propose and agree functional budgets with the Logistics Manager. You will have the responsibility to help monitor, control all activity in the agreed functional budget, whilst investigating and resolving any variances if they occur.

Investigate, analyse and implement corrective actions utilising current systems where appropriate (i.e. FTA Vision, Webfleet Telematics, SOL Warehouse management system) to resolve all logistics problems eliminating inefficient supply and distribution routes, quality of service, customer losses and continuously improving working practices. (e.g. weight checking, mileage/km fuel consumption, accuracy and timeliness of deliveries to customers).

Provide relief cover by completing routes in the event of driver absence or annual leave and deputise for the Logistics Manager during periods they are away/ absent from the business.

What We're Looking For

Drivers CPC and Category C Licence.

Leadership and people management skills.

Health and Safety regulation understanding.

2-3 years' of Supervisory experience is desirable.

IT literate with good written and verbal English skills.

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyse data and interpret the information effectively to continuously improve the department.

The ability to listen to andinfluence peer group and all department team members to build and lead an effective working team.

Can do attitude, who is flexible with the ability to react quickly to the needs of the customer and the business.

The shift pattern for this vacancy is Monday to Friday 13:00hrs to 21:30hrs, with Saturday Shift Overtime as required by the business.
