Job description

Job Purpose:

Collaborate with warehouse colleagues to ensure efficient, safe, and accurate stock handling and to deliver high-quality service to all customers.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform core operational tasks such as goods receipt, put away, picking, and packing customer orders according to company processes and SSW documentation (Safe System of Work).
2. Assist with regular and ad hoc site activities, including inventory checks, system development, and implementation.
3. Ensure all stock is stored, handled, and transported securely, complying with company procedures, hygiene legislation, and health and safety guidelines.
4. Provide professional, courteous, and efficient service to all customers.
5. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in the workplace, adhering to company and legislative standards.
6. Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others, following all safety and quality systems, reporting incidents or concerns to your line manager.
7. Support and train newly appointed or less experienced colleagues as appropriate.
8. Provide cover for absent colleagues and regularly refresh knowledge of processes to ensure effective support.
9. Perform other duties as required for the smooth operation of the business.
10. Undertake forklift duties as required, including daily safety checks and adherence to warehouse guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Ability to perform repetitive light, medium, and heavy lifting; manual handling training will be provided.
• Previous warehouse experience.
• Focus on total customer satisfaction (internal and external).
• Conscientious, reliable, with good attendance and punctuality.
• Honest, trustworthy, able to work independently.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Keen to learn, receptive to feedback, and proactive in acquiring new skills.
• Demonstrates initiative and contributes ideas.
• Pragmatic problem-solver, committed to safe working practices.
• Positive team player, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.
• Good numeracy, literacy, and IT skills (MS Office).
• Qualified to operate Counterbalance and Reach Forklift Trucks (if required).
