At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Logistics Operative at either our Beckton or park Royal site.

The role
As a Logistics Operative, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Providing effective equipment and vehicle support to sustain a level of equipment and vehicle availability sufficient to meet our training programme with the London Fire Brigade.

  • Day-to-day, you’ll work within the logistics Dept and carry out administrative activities to support utilising all resources available.
  • Manage tasks while liaising with the logistic manager.
  • Assist with the management of resources to ensure compliance with legislation and ensure an adequate stock level.
  • Comply with the London Fire Brigade system for the reporting and processing of equipment defects and breakdowns.
  • Carry out any other tasks as reasonably directed by the Logistics Manager.
  • Provide cover for the delivery drivers.

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is based onsite at either our Park Royal or Beckton sites.

Essential experience of the Logistics Operative

  • The ability to work as a member of a team within the logistics department.
  • The ability to work without supervision.
  • Good knowledge of Fire service vehicle and equipment type. (desirable)
  • Good awareness of current Health and Safety regulations within a workshop environment.
  • A professional image – be trustworthy, punctual and polite and demonstrate a good work ethic.

Qualifications for the Logistics Operative

  • Hold a category C driving licence. (desirable)
