Job summary

Wilson James is seeking a Logistics Operative to join the Building Management Services (BMS) team at Hinkley Point C in Somerset. The role involves supporting site logistics, signing and stock control, and providing contractor support within a safety-critical environment.

We offer a permanent contract with an average 40.25 hours per week, a night shift from 18:00 to 06:00, and a progression pathway. Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must have UK right to work.

Qualifications

• CITB Operative Health & Safety Test must be completed before starting.
• Good communication and teamwork are essential.
• Ability to understand and follow Safe Systems of Work.
• Strong work ethic and reliability are required.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Installing wayfinding and emergency signage.
• Waste management and segregation.
• General housekeeping.
• Receipt and stock control of consumables and equipment.
• Providing logistics support to contractors across site.

Salary: £15.72 per hour, progressing to £17.77 per hour upon completion of the Wilson James Progression Pathway

Hours: Average 40.25 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 5 off, 5 on, 4 off

Day Shift: 18:00-06:00

What We Need From You

• CITB Operative Health & Safety Test, to be completed before starting
• Good communication skills
• Ability to understand and follow Safe Systems of Work
• Strong work ethic and a reliable approach
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

• Previous construction experience
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical tooling and consumables
• Understanding of logistics processes and regulations

Site Requirements

• Ability to provide a 3-year work, unemployment and/or education history and complete the required HPC vetting process
• Ability to obtain an HPC pass
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. You must already have the right to work in the UK
• Please be aware that access to the site requires a bus journey of approximately 45 minutes each way
