Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, with train and bus links providing easy access to transport connections, our 400 acre estate is a unique and inspiring place to work.

You will play an important role in our school community, working alongside dedicated colleagues to ensure the smooth and effective running of Wellington. Your contribution will directly support pupils, staff, and visitors every day, and you will have access to development opportunities that help you grow in your career.

Wellington College is seeking a practical, reliable and service-minded Logistic Operative to help ensure that its extensive campus remains well organised, welcoming and ready for daily College life. Working as part of Domestic Services, you will provide responsive support across a varied site, moving furniture, equipment and supplies safely and efficiently wherever they are needed. Your work will make a visible difference to the experience of pupils, colleagues, visitors and event clients.

A key part of the role will be preparing and restoring spaces for conferences, lectures, events and other College activities. You will take pride in presenting rooms and public areas to a high standard, helping each occasion run smoothly from set-up through to clearance. Alongside this, you will contribute to the cleanliness and upkeep of shared spaces, supporting waste and recycling arrangements, responding to spillages and carrying out appropriate specialist cleaning and minor practical tasks.

This is an active, hands-on position for someone who can balance planned work with changing priorities in a busy environment. You will be comfortable working independently on routine duties while collaborating closely with colleagues to provide cover and maintain a dependable service. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, as is experience in a relevant logistics, facilities or site-support setting. You will bring a sound understanding of safe working practices, including manual handling and the careful use of equipment, and will complete vehicle checks accurately and conscientiously.

The successful candidate will communicate professionally with a wide range of people and approach every task with care, discretion and attention to detail. Flexibility, initiative and a calm manner under pressure will be important, as will a commitment to Wellington’s values of kindness, respect, courage, integrity and responsibility. This is an excellent opportunity to play an important behind-the-scenes role in a thriving College community, delivering the practical support that enables its people and spaces to flourish.

Joining a school community brings a strong sense of purpose and connection. At Wellington, you will have access to training and development that supports your professional growth, while working with colleagues who take pride in delivering excellent service across our campus.
