The Logistics Operations Senior Specialist is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end‑to‑end logistics and supply chain processes for Solihull plant and our Logistics Operations Centre. This includes managing transportation, warehousing, inventory, and distribution to ensure timely, cost‑effective, and compliant delivery of material. The role requires strategic planning, cross‑functional collaboration, and continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. You will support the Solihull Plant operation and transition by:
Responsibilities
- Deliver programme plans on time ensuring flawless launches and operations
- Ensure robust compliance to audit standards and operational processes
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to streamline operations
- Ensure delivery of the area's scorecard metrics
- Be able to process and action a complex range of data sets to show operational effectiveness and lead projects for improvement that contribute to best in class standards
- Be able to understand resource calculation tools and equivalent to drive waste reduction throughout the operation, lead logistics projects and report progress to senior management
- Ensure compliance to audit standards throughout the operation
- Analyze logistics data to identify and action inefficiencies and cost‑saving opportunities
- Prepare and present performance reports (KPIs, cost analysis, delivery metrics)
- Lead the delivery of the Scorecard metrics associated to operational areas of control
- Work with project teams on the development and deployment of new solutions into the live operational environment
- To drive constraint analysis and problem‑solving techniques in a disciplined and consistent manner
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in Material Planning / Logistics in Supply Chain
- High attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
- Have previous experience in multiple logistics functions providing in‑depth knowledge of organisational processes
- Experience of warehouse management operations and control processes
- Previous experience managing a team
- Good analytical skills and statistical ability
- Extensive knowledge of problem‑solving techniques and understanding of lean manufacturing principles
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
