We are looking for a Logistics Manager to support our UK operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, preferably working for an international trading company with knowledge in metals or chemicals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide commercial support to the Sales Team.
- Create Purchase Orders and Sales Contracts.
- Record all offers, negotiations, and follow up on deliveries post-order placement.
- Review stock availability and plan timely shipments for stock replenishment.
- Review final commodity price calculations.
- Conduct quarterly order book assessments with relevant sales teams.
- Manage and monitor credit line exposure and ensure punctual payment collection.
- Assist in completing paperwork and shipping documentation, including a strong knowledge of Bill of Lading, CMR, AWB, and Packing Lists.
- Follow up on deliveries and support checking paperwork for inbound and outbound orders (import/export formalities, customs clearance documents, etc.).
- Maintain the electronic filing system for administrative documentation.
- Interact with third-party logistics service providers.
- Communicate with warehouse staff and overseas offices to ensure effective inventory management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in international trade and administration or equivalent industry experience.
- Commercial mindset with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive attitude and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough knowledge of incoterms (CIF, DAP, DDP, FOB, etc.).
- Knowledge of planning techniques and geographical knowledge of Europe is a plus.
- Understanding of logistics and warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of national and international shipping documents and transport regulations.
- Experience handling UK imports, especially of physical commodities or chemicals (metals preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are advantageous.
- Minimum 3 days per week in the office located in Weybridge, Surrey.
- Residence within 5-10 miles of the office is preferred.
Additional Notes:
This role requires close teamwork in a small office environment. Candidates must have experience in importing physical commodities or chemicals into the UK post-Brexit, preferably metals-related.
