Job summary

UBT in Thetford, Norfolk is seeking a people-focused logistics leader to manage drivers and logistics teams, ensuring fleet performance and regulatory compliance while driving service improvements.

Based in an office setting, you will spearhead delivery operations, optimise route planning and cost control, and foster strong customer and carrier relationships to support a growing operation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in logistics, transport or distribution management.
• Experience managing teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong understanding of fleet management, delivery operations and route planning.
• Commercial awareness with a focus on performance and continuous improvement.
• A proactive, hands-on leadership style.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of transport compliance and health & safety requirements.
• Experience using logistics, transport management or ERP systems.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Resilient and calm under pressure.

• Leading and developing drivers and logistics teams
• Managing fleet performance, maintenance and vehicle compliance
• Driving delivery efficiency, service improvements and cost control
• Ensuring deliveries are completed in full and on time
• Building strong relationships with customers and third-party carriers
• Overseeing health & safety and transport compliance standards
• Identifying opportunities to improve operational performance
