Tasks
- Organise all plant, equipment, materials and people movement.
- Produce and implement the Construction Logistics Plans
- Manage site logistics compound activity ensuring safety, service and cost efficiency.
- Recruit, manage and motivate staff to create a high performing team.
- Develop productive working relationships with stakeholders.
- Delivering traffic management alongside colleagues in the Traffic and Transport function.
- Produce management reports as required by the business and the client.
- Carry out any other duties appropriate for a job of this nature, in support of the Programme Logistics Manager
- Act as the deputy to the Programme Logistics Manager.
Qualifications
- The candidate will be enthusiastic about becoming further qualified in construction Logistics disciplines for themselves and those who work as direct reports.
- The candidate is required to hold a degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience of logistics management, including site experience on construction projects to fulfil the required roles as appropriate to the works.
- Knowledge and practical experience of legal requirements and how to comply with them, including section 60 & 61, driver hours, construction logistics plans, vehicles and safe driving.
- Good knowledge of site establishment and ongoing operation and maintenance.
- Good knowledge of safe operational practice of vehicles, equipment and methods of loading and off-loading.
- Good knowledge and practical experience of materials scheduling planning and organising deliveries to/from sites.
- Experience of liaison with stakeholders including local authorities, police and highways authorities.
- Working knowledge of CLOCS, FORS, Safety at Street Works COP, Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 8, Traffic Management Act 2004 & Disability Discrimination Act 2005.
- Practical understanding of Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders.
- Experience of working in the Construction, Utilities Industry or Highway Authority.
