Overview
We are a multi‑site global automotive component manufacturer seeking a Logistics Manager to lead production control and logistics operations in Northampton. The role involves driving continuous improvement, safety, quality, cost and delivery objectives across a complex automotive supply chain.
Location
Northampton (commutable to Milton Keynes, Leicester, Bedford, Huntingdon, Peterborough, St Neots, Market Harborough, Daventry, Banbury, Brackley, Rugby).
Salary
Up to £75,000 (dependent on experience).

Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 5 direct and 25 indirect reports, promoting a positive working environment and operational standards.
- Drive continuous improvement for HSE, quality, cost and delivery, setting detailed targets and motivating the team to achieve them.
- Use daily and weekly performance metrics to identify deviations, develop containment and countermeasures, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with QHSE standards and conduct audits to maintain safe operating conditions.
- Manage production control, planning, logistics and warehousing for a 24/5 shift pattern with a global OEM customer base.
- Support growth and development of the team, resolving concerns within scope and escalating appropriately.
Qualifications
- Experience in automotive or fast‑paced volume manufacturing (aerospace, pharmaceutical, food, rail, industrial, etc.).
- Background in logistics, supply chain, operations or production management, preferably with global or corporate experience.
- Knowledge of regulated and compliant working environments.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and make challenging decisions with accountability.
- Customer‑first attitude to support a global supply chain.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP (MRP, inventory control, production planning).
- Passion for process improvement, sustainability and operational efficiency.
- Data‑driven mindset, confident in identifying issues, challenging practices and implementing solutions.
