Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule daily delivery routes for a fleet of vehicles.
• Assign drivers to specific routes and vehicles, ensuring compliance with regulations and schedules.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, providing them with necessary dispatch information and updates.
• Track the progress of deliveries in real-time, addressing any delays or issues promptly.
• Liaise with the warehouse team to ensure orders are ready for dispatch on time.
• Prepare and manage all dispatch documentation, including delivery manifests and proof of delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of driver hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery performance.
• Ensure compliance with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Handle customer inquiries related to delivery schedules and status.
• Optimize routes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Logistics Dispatcher, Fleet Coordinator, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of dispatch operations, route planning, and transportation management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in dispatch software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Knowledge of Gauteng road networks and traffic patterns is a significant advantage.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by operational needs.
• A relevant qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
