Job summary

MacGregor Black partners with an FMCG business in London to appoint a Logistics Director. This senior role will lead nationwide logistics, including transport, fleet, and 3PL partners, to drive service levels and efficiency.

You will shape end-to-end supply chain strategy, manage significant budgets, develop a high-performing team across multiple sites, and ensure UK regulatory compliance while delivering store availability.

Qualifications

• Experience in senior logistics leadership within large-scale UK retail or FMCG.
• Proven track record managing both in-house fleets and 3PL providers.
• Strong knowledge of national DC operations and multi-site networks.
• Excellent financial acumen with experience managing large budgets.
• Data-driven with experience using logistics systems and KPIs.
• Ability to operate at strategic and operational levels.
• Knowledge of UK transport regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all logistics operations, including transport, fleet (in-house and 3PL), and national distribution centres.
• Develop and execute logistics strategies aligned with growth and service objectives.
• Oversee 3PL partner performance, cost control, and contractual compliance.
• Optimise distribution network efficiency including routing and warehousing.
• Drive continuous improvement leveraging data and technology across logistics.
• Ensure high service levels across a large retail network and stores.
• Manage logistics budgets, controls, and financial performance.
• Lead, develop, and inspire a logistics team across multiple locations.
• Ensure compliance with UK transport, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
