The Logistics Coordinator provides essential administrative and operational support to ensure the efficient movement of goods in and out of the business. This role involves close coordination with commercial, operations, and transport teams to meet customer expectations and deliver products on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coordinate with commercial and operations teams to schedule and prepare transport for order fulfilment.
2. Plan and manage vehicle movements using both internal and external resources, ensuring efficient routing and compliance with driver hours.
3. Raise purchase orders for external haulier companies.
4. Check every vehicle before it leaves the yard and ensure it has been checked and signed off by 2 employees.
5. Communicate delivery timelines to the sales team and confirm transport details with customers.
6. Optimise delivery schedules based on geography, mileage, vehicle suitability, and cost.
7. Maximise vehicle load efficiency and structure multi-drop routes effectively.
8. Maintain and update the transport calendar, vehicle loading sheets, and goods in/out schedules.
9. Ensure correct goods are loaded onto the right vehicles and confirm accuracy before dispatch to minimise picking errors.
10. Proactively communicate any delays or issues to the sales team and customers.
11. Explore and manage back-load opportunities to increase transport efficiency.
12. Complete all month-end logistics processes accurately and on time.
13. Ensure compliance with all company policies, particularly Health & Safety and environmental procedures.

Experience Required

1. Previous experience working as a Logistics Coordinator.
2. Organised and proactive approach.
3. Transport planning experience.
4. Understanding of driver hours, route planning, and compliance.

This is a full-time permanent vacancy working Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
