Job description

Reporting into the Plant & Transport Manager, the successful Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the efficient transportation and storage of goods, materials, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning & Scheduling - coordinating and scheduling deliveries and collections to meet operational requirements along with optimising routes and transport plans to reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Inventory & Stock Control - monitoring stock levels and ensuring accurate documentation of goods in transit
  • Compliance & Documentation - ensuring all transport activities comply with legal, safety and company standards along with preparing and maintaining accurate records including delivery notes, manifests and regulatory documentation
  • Supplier & Stakeholder Management - communicating with suppliers, drivers, and internal teams to resolve issues promptly. You will also negotiate with transport providers for competitive rates and reliable service
  • Performance Monitoring - tracking KPIs and reporting on logistics performance and identify areas for improvement
    Familiarity with telematics systems and fleet management tools e.g. GeoTab or Syrinx 360
  • Good understanding of customer service expectations and excellent telephone manner
  • Computer literate with Excel
  • Good administrative and organisational skills
  • Experience in HGV Logistics
