Job summary

Cancer Research UK in Cambridge is seeking a proactive Logistics Coordinator to support our Facilities and Operations Team at Babraham Research Campus. The role is on-site, full-time (35 hours per week), permanent, with responsibilities for courier management and logistics coordination across locations.

You will manage daily shipments, build relationships with couriers and third-party providers, and help document processes to secure efficient, cost-effective logistics for our scientific work.

Qualifications

  • Educated to A level or equivalent, or substantial hands-on experience in a logistics environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Flexible approach to supporting multiple locations/buildings (on a single site).
  • Collaborative mentality with the ability to work independently where needed.
  • Experience of providing high-level support to multiple staff in a multi-disciplinary scientific environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks effectively under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Facilities Helpdesk tickets and triage and resolve logistics-related issues.
  • Act as the main point of contact for inbound/outbound couriers, supporting staff with payment and paperwork.
  • Arrange courier shipments between CRH sites and external partners/suppliers.
  • Ensure logistics processes are documented and guidance documents are available for staff.
  • Build relationships with third-party logistics providers and review the market for best value.
  • Support contracts with couriers with TI Commercial team where appropriate.
  • Provide cover and ad hoc support for other facilities team members as required.
  • Keep up to date with shipping guidance and undertake any necessary training.

We are looking for a proactive and highly organised LogisticsCoordinatorto supportour Facilitiesand Operations Team, ensuringasmooth and efficientlogisticsprocessacross all locations on the BabrahamResearchcampusin Cambridge.

In this role, you will be central to keeping our operations running seamlessly by managing daily courier activity,maintainingkey relationships, and providinghands‑onsupport to colleagues across the organisation.

As the primary point of contact for all inbound and outbound couriers, you will coordinate shipments, resolve queries, and ensuretimelyandaccuratemovement of materials.

You will also build strong relationships withthird‑partylogisticsproviders and stay informed about the market to help us secure the best value and service. Maintainingaccurateprocess documentation and supporting the review oflogisticscontracts with Operations colleagues will also be a key part of your responsibilities.

This is a fullyon‑siterole, with the post holder working across all CRH locations on the Babraham campus, including the Jonas Webb and Bennet Buildings. What will I be doing?
  • Monitor CRH Facilities Helpdesk tickets andreview, triage and resolvewhere possiblethose relating tologistics.
  • Act asthemain point of contactforallinbound and outbound couriers,supporting staff withpayment andpaperwork,and troubleshootingissues with shipmentsasrequired.
  • Arrange courier shipments between CRH sites and to external partners/suppliers asrequired.
  • Work withOperations Team Leadershipto ensure alllogisticsprocesses are clearly documentedand that relevant guidance documents are available for staff.
  • Ensure all documentation is regularly reviewed and kept up to date.
  • Build effective relationships with third partylogisticsproviders and regularly review the market to ensure best value.
  • Work with colleagues in the TI Commercial team toimplement andmaintaincontracts with Couriers whereappropriate.
  • Support Facilities Team members with daily tasks including managing deliveries and restocking consumableswhererequired.
  • Keep up to date with relevant industry and regulatory shipping guidanceand undertakeanynecessary trainingasrequired.
  • Provide coverand Ad hoc supportforother membersand areasof the facilities team asrequired.
What are we looking for?
