Job summary

Ikwezi Mining (Pty) Ltd is seeking a senior Mining Logistics Coordinator to oversee mine-site logistics, including weighbridge operations, stockpile management, and truck movements. You will monitor movements, ensure safe handling of coal, and maintain compliance with HSE standards while capturing data in SAP and Excel.

You will work with contractors and site teams to sustain efficient, safe operations. The role requires extensive mining logistics experience (35 years preferred), strong planning

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in mining logistics or bulk material movement.
• Proficient with SAP or similar ERP and Excel for data capture.
• Experience with weighbridge systems and stockpile logistics.
• Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and capability to produce accurate reconciliations.
• Ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively with contractors.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily mine-site logistics activities: weighbridge ops, stockpile mgmt, truck movements, and transport scheduling.
• Monitor inbound/outbound truck movements to minimise delays and boost efficiency.
• Ensure safe handling of coal, prevent contamination, and maintain health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Capture and maintain logistics data using SAP/Excel: load tracking, reconciliations, trip records.
• Identify operational issues and help implement improvements to optimize processes.
• Collaborate with transport contractors, machine operators, and site personnel daily.
• Ensure all logistics documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
• Promote a strong safety culture and comply with company policies and site procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily mine-site logistics activities, including weighbridge operations, stockpile management, truck movements, and transport scheduling. Monitor inbound and outbound truck movements to minimise delays and maintain operational efficiency. Ensure the safe handling and movement of coal while preventing contamination and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Capture and maintain accurate logistics data using SAP (or a similar ERP system) and Excel, including load tracking, stock reconciliations, and trip records. Identify operational issues and assist in implementing improvements to optimise logistics processes. Work closely with transport contractors, machine operators, and site personnel to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Ensure all logistics documentation is completed accurately and on time. Promote a strong safety culture and comply with all company policies and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• 35 years' experience in mining logistics, transport coordination, or bulk material movement (coal experience advantageous).
• Experience using SAP (or a similar ERP system), Microsoft Excel, weighbridge systems, and stockpile logistics.
• Good planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail with experience in reconciliations, trip sheets, and logistics reporting.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced mining environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with contractors and operational teams.
