Job summary

Dalkia UK is seeking a Logistics Chargehand to supervise a team of General Operatives at HPC Main Site, ensuring efficient control and distribution of permanent construction materials and maintaining a safe work environment.

Role requires relevant safety qualifications, leadership skills, and proficient use of IT tools. Full-time position with 38 hours per week and 10 days on/4 days off shift pattern, with potential overtime.

• Basic IT literacy skills.
• Willing to undertake training courses as required to assist in delivering a high quality of service.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of General Operatives for the control and distribution of permanent construction materials.
• Support and maintain the construction environment.
• Coordinate day-to-day operations to meet client requirements.

Job Title: Logistics Chargehand
Location: HPC Main Site
Job Description: Supervising a team of General Operatives for the control and distribution of permanent construction materials and general duties to support and maintain the construction environment.

Hourly Rate

• Basic = £28.29
• OTA = £39.61
• OTB = £50.93

Shift Pattern/Hours

• Full Time – 38hrs pw + OT
• 10 Days on - 4 Days off
• 5hrs per day (-0.5hrs unpaid break)

• CCNSG Safety Passport
• 1 of the following;
  • SSSTS
  • LATS
  • IOSH Managing Safely
• Good spoken and written English language skills
• Basic IT literacy skills

Additional Desirable Quals

• 1 of the following;
  • CPCS Competent Operator (Blue Card) or NPORS Telehandler
  • CPCS Competent Operator (Blue Card) or NPORS Counterbalance Forklift
• CPCS Competent Operator (Blue Card) or NPORS Traffic Marshall
• Full UK Driving License – No more than 9 points

• Leadership & Management Practice for the Construction & Built Environment Sector - ILM
• First Aid @ Work
• Trauma Medic Immediate Care - TMIC
• Incident Controller – IC

Essential Knowledge/Experience/Skills

• Proven background supervising a team
• Willing to undertake training courses as required to assist in delivering a high quality of service to the client.

Additional Desirable Knowledge/Experience/Skills

• Knowledge & experience in the use of the plant equipment types list in desirable quals.
• Proven background supervising plant operations.
• Proven background operating a general stores
• Proven background maintaining the transfer of LTQR for permanent materials
• Proven background supervising a team of support operatives
• Knowledge of industry and HPC standards and best practices relating to the use of plant equipment types list in desirable quals and managing safe working zones around moving plant equipment (PVPI).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word.
• Knowledge of Hilti and AssetTagz systems
