Job Purpose:
Accountabilities:
- Lead a team responsible for delivering cost-effective and timely import and export operations.
- Develop the team to be industry experts.
- Identify opportunities and implement margin improvement initiatives by reviewing load optimisation, freight costs, and other logistics opportunities.
- Verify and challenge invoices and costs with logistics providers like Great Bear, Dachser, and others.
- Assist other business areas with VAT, legal, and customs paperwork queries related to product movement.
- Manage the Dachser 3PL relationship and contract.
- Serve as a key supply chain partner for the IGM business unit, building positive relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Communicate logistics updates effectively across the business, including timings, new setups, legislation, and paperwork requirements.
- Support and cover for the Senior Logistics Manager.
- Plan ahead for weeks to months to ensure objectives align with commercial needs.
- Manage or assist with small projects, ensuring delivery in line with objectives.
- Ensure compliance with standards, policies, regulations, and manage risks, escalating when necessary.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the supply chain.
- Stay updated on regulations, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Relevant technical or vocational qualification or equivalent work experience, with ability to share knowledge and advise.
- Market awareness relevant to the specific area of business.
- Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Strategic thinking to identify and mitigate risks and leverage opportunities.
- Ability to manage and plan workload effectively, handling conflicting priorities.
