Job summary

Elliot Marsh is looking for a Logistics Accounts Coordinator in Manchester to act as the trusted contact for our clients, coordinating freight forwarding needs and driving revenue through service excellence.

The role focuses on building strong customer relationships, handling road and sea forwarding, and working with Sales Executives to convert opportunities while maintaining accurate records and timely shipments.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics or freight forwarding is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability in high‑volume environments.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office for reporting and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide service information, quotations and take bookings, championing customer needs at all times
• Receive and process incoming enquiries accurately, collecting all necessary information to ensure correct booking and timely shipment processing
• Handle road and sea forwarding shipments while protecting the company by monitoring credit ratings and outstanding account balances
• Follow up quotations and correspondence with customers to secure business and develop new opportunities alongside Sales Executives
• Manage customer order progress enquiries efficiently, keeping customers informed of shipment status at all times
• Demonstrate knowledge of customs regulations, dangerous goods and insurance requirements, liaising with customs staff as needed
• Collate and process claims information promptly and professionally
• Maintain accurate documentation, records and systems, preparing management reports as required

Logistics Accounts Coordinator - The Role

As Logistics Accounts Coordinator, you will be the nominated point of contact for some of the company's largest and most valued customers. You will manage their freight forwarding needs, handling multiple major accounts with the highest levels of attention to detail. Your focus will be on providing excellent shipping and transport expertise, building lasting relationships, understanding customer requirements, and promoting the company's full range of services to generate and retain business.

Logistics Accounts Coordinator - You

• Comfortable working across the Microsoft suite, particularly Outlook, Excel and Teams
• A fast learner with new systems and generally computer literate
• Able to work from the Manchester site full time, ideally with your own transport
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Calm under pressure, able to prioritise a busy workload and see it through
• Confident multi-tasking, with experience of this in a similar role
• Comfortable taking ownership of decisions and working independently within agreed boundaries
• A genuine team player with a can-do attitude
• Knowledge of freight forwarding, customs regulations and shipping procedures, or willingness to develop these
