Job summary

The successful applicant will join the consultant team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust to expand stroke services in the regional Neuroscience centre, supporting education and research activities. The role involves contributing to out-of-hours thrombolysis and thrombectomy guidance and participating in training across medical staff, nursing and allied professionals.

Qualifications

• Entry on GMC Specialist Register via CCT, CESR or equivalent.
• Desirable stroke specialist training and rehabilitation experience.
• Evidence of research interest and clinical audit.
• Experience teaching resident doctors.
• Understanding NHS governance and clinical management experience.
• Flexible to work hours, shifts and on-call as required.

Responsibilities

• Join the consultant body to expand stroke services at the regional Neuroscience centre.
• Develop medical management and participate in training of staff and students.
• Provide out-of-hours advice on thrombolysis and thrombectomy; contribute to weekend rota.
