Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust in Stoke-on-Trent seeks a Consultant in Stroke Medicine to lead and coordinate care across hyper-acute, acute and rehabilitation phases. The post offers a 24/7 thrombectomy service within a tertiary centre and calls for strong clinical leadership across a large multi-disciplinary team.

The role requires GMC registration, MRCP, and CCT in Stroke Medicine, with opportunities for academic activity and teaching.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration is required.
• MRCP or equivalent is required.
• CCT in Stroke Medicine is required.
• MD or PhD are desirable qualifications.
• Entry on GMC Specialist Register via CCT/CESR/EC Rights is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert patient assessment in diagnosis and management of stroke patients in both in-patient and out-patient settings.
• Actively engage in and develop stroke services and provide clinical leadership to others.
• Collaborate with colleagues to implement new ways of working across professions and organisations.

Education

Full GMC Registration
