Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a NHS locum Consultant in Respiratory with an interest in TB, asthma, EBUS and/or Bronchiectasis, particularly ILD. The Trust has a mature ILD Pathway with a dedicated ILD nursing team, ILD pharmacist and bi-weekly MDTs with GSTT.

The role includes respiratory ward cover, outpatient clinics, pleural procedures, EBUS and other thoracic interventions, and GIM on-call cover. Excellent education and simulation facilities support clinical leadership.

Qualifications

• MB BS or equivalent.
• GMC licence to practice.
• Name on Specialist Register or to have obtained CCT within 6 months of interview date.
• MD or equivalent desirable.
• Wide experience in General (Internal) Medicine and Respiratory Medicine culminating in CCT in both specialties.

Responsibilities

• Respiratory Ward cover and outpatient clinics for routine, urgent and suspected lung cancer.
• Provide guidance to primary care; perform pleural procedures and EBUS, bronchoscopic and other thoracic interventional diagnostics.
• GIM on-call cover and leadership within the multidisciplinary team.
