Job summary

Locums First is looking for Locum Practice Nurses in London and surrounding areas to provide flexible sessional coverage across primary care services. You will join multiple teams, delivering treatment room clinics, immunisations, and health checks in line with local protocols.

This role offers ad‑hoc or ongoing bookings with weekday, evening or weekend options, allowing you to tailor your schedule to your availability while supporting GP practices and community services.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Immunisation training is beneficial.
• Cytology training is beneficial.
• Enhanced DBS is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver treatment room clinics including wound care and dressings.
• Support chronic disease management within care plans.
• Perform immunisations for adults and children (if trained).
• Undertake smear tests where cytology-trained.
• Perform NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Record accurate clinical notes for each service.
• Assist with general nursing duties as required.

You will support multiple primary care teams through a mix of routine procedures, long‑term condition reviews and general nursing tasks. Each service provides clear protocols and structured workflows, ensuring a consistent and well‑supported working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering treatment room clinics including wound care and dressings
• Supporting chronic disease management within established care plans
• Carrying out immunisations for adults and children (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests where cytology‑trained
• Performing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Recording accurate clinical notes for each service
• Assisting with general nursing duties as required

Requirements

• NMC-registered Nurse with primary care experience
