Job summary

Locum Ready is looking for a Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Prenton. The role provides chronic disease reviews, wound care, immunisations, and routine clinic duties within a structured primary care setting.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. Regular or ad-hoc sessions, morning and afternoon availability, and long-term bookings are offered.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with experience in primary care.
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiar with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out adult and childrens' immunisations (if trained).
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system.
