Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Bedworth. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics within a structured primary care setting.

You will support high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work and timely follow-ups. NHS Health Checks, immunisations and cytology duties may be included, with regular or ad-hoc sessions and long-term bookings.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with experience in primary care.
• Immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carrying out adult and children's immunisations (if trained).
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system.
