Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to support a GP practice in Sutton Coldfield. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine clinics within a structured primary care setting.

You will conduct clinical reviews, preventative health work and NHS health checks, with duties including wound care, immunisations (if trained) and smear tests. EMIS, SystmOne or Vision familiarity and an Enhanced DBS are preferred.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with experience in primary care.
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.
