Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Swindon. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care setting.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work and efficient clinic delivery. Regular or ad-hoc sessions with morning and afternoon slots are available.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered Nurse with experience in primary care.
• Immunisation training and cytology experience desirable.
• Strong assessment and clinical reasoning.
• Confident in chronic disease management.

Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children's immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through a balance of clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. The practice offers well-organised workflows, supportive nursing leadership and a clear structure for daily clinic delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable

• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision
• Enhanced DBS
