Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Practice Nurse to support a GP surgery in High Wycombe. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, wound care, immunisations (if trained) and routine clinics within a structured primary care setting.

You will support recalls, NHS Health Checks and maintain clear documentation in the EMIS/SystmOne/Vision systems. NMC registration and DBS check required; available sessions are regular or ad-hoc with long-term bookings.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Immunisation training desirable.
• Confidence in chronic disease management and clinic duties.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.

Locum Ready is looking for a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in High Wycombe. This role is ideal for a Practice Nurse with strong assessment skills who can confidently deliver chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through a balance of clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. The practice offers well-organised workflows, supportive nursing leadership and a clear structure for daily clinic delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)

Requirements
