Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to join a GP practice in Swindon. The role focuses on delivering structured primary care clinics, chronic disease reviews and treatment room procedures through flexible locum sessions.

You will support high-quality patient care with immunisations, routine clinics and health checks, while maintaining accurate clinical documentation. Prior primary care experience and an NMC registration are essential; EMIS/SystmOne/Vision familiarity is desirable.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Strong communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children's immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system

This role is ideal for a Practice Nurse with strong assessment skills who can confidently deliver chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through a balance of clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. The practice offers well-organised workflows, supportive nursing leadership and a clear structure for daily clinic delivery.

Key Responsibilities
