Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Gillingham. The role suits a nurse with strong assessment skills, able to deliver chronic disease reviews, wound care, immunisations, and routine clinic duties in a structured primary care setting.

You will support high-quality patient care with clinical reviews, preventive health work and clear documentation in the EMIS/SystmOne/ Vision systems.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with experience in primary care.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Immunisation training and/or cytology training desirable (up-to-date if available).

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system

Requirements

• NMC-registered Nurse with experience in primary care

• Enhanced DBS

Working Pattern
