Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Burnley. The role suits a nurse with strong assessment skills who can deliver chronic disease reviews, wound care, and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care setting.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. Regular or ad-hoc sessions with morning and afternoon availability, long-term bookings offered.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room work.
• Excellent patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision systems.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system.
