Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is expanding its Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant team at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. The role is a 12-month fixed-term contract, full-time (10 sessions per week) with on-call duties.

The successful candidate will provide leadership, direct patient care, and oversee trauma and resuscitation teams within a dynamic tertiary service. The post requires a GMC-registered consultant with subspecialist credentials in Paediatric Emergency

Qualifications

MB ChB or equivalent with GMC registration.
FRCEM or MRCPCH or equivalent with specialist registration.
Full and specialist GMC registration (or eligible within six months).
CCT in Emergency Medicine or Paediatrics with subspecialty in Paediatric Emergency Medicine or within six months of award.
Experience of Audit and teaching of junior medical staff.
MD, PhD or other higher degree is desirable.
Publications in recognised clinical journals and research projects related to paediatric emergency medicine.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and deliver high-quality, safe, family-centred care for children in the ED.
Lead the Paediatric Trauma and Resuscitation teams and act as EPiC.
Involve in audit, service improvement and clinical governance to develop the service.
Balance in-hours and out-of-hours duties and contribute to education and governance.
