Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) invites applications for a Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Paediatric Epilepsy based at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. The post sits in a vibrant paediatric neurology department with 11 consultants.

The role supports a region-wide epilepsy service with multiple clinics, inpatient and outpatient care, and opportunities for teaching, research and service development in partnership with national epilepsy surgery services.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification.
• Full MRCPCH or equivalent.
• CCT gained or pending within 6 months, or eligibility for equivalent route to Specialist Register.
• Considerable experience in paediatrics at specialty registrar level.
• Demonstrable previous paediatric neurology experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a busy complex epilepsy service with a comprehensive range of treatments and specialised clinics, and in partnership with the national Children’s Epilepsy Surgery Service network.
• Contribute to teaching, education, research and audit; develop clinical skills in complex paediatric epilepsy and related therapies.
• Inpatient and outpatient care with opportunities to lead audits and service improvements.

Education
