Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to work in a GP practice in Sheffield. The role centres on autonomous NP-led clinics for minor illnesses, handling urgent on-the-day demand, and contributing to the smooth running of daily clinical activity.

You will deliver autonomous NP-led clinics, provide efficient triage support and help maintain continuity of care for patients. Regular or ad-hoc sessions with morning and afternoon clinics; long-term opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse Practitioner with relevant experience.
• Independent Prescribing qualification desirable.
• Background in primary care, urgent care or community nursing.
• Confident autonomous clinician with strong clinical judgement.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Running minor illness and urgent care NP clinics.
• Telephone triage and patient streaming.
• Assessing, diagnosing and managing undifferentiated presentations.
• Prescribing independently where qualified.
• Reviewing investigations and actioning follow-up tasks.
• Ensuring accurate documentation within the clinical system.
• Supporting GPs and Practice Nurses with core clinical duties.
