Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a Locum Consultant Microbiologist in Birmingham to join an established Microbiology service. The post involves providing comprehensive microbiology care and supporting infection prevention and control within the Trust.

The role offers a 12-month fixed-term contract with CESR support and a pro rata annual salary of £105,504 to £139,882. The appointee will work with the existing three Consultants to deliver high-quality microbiology and laboratory services, with

Qualifications

• Medical degree and valid medical license.
• GMC registration or eligibility to join within 6 months.
• FRCPath or MRCP or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Consultant in Microbiology or similar.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat infectious diseases; manage patient care.
• Lead microbiology services in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support infection prevention and control and laboratory operations.
• Engage in continuous professional development and stay current with medical advancements.
