Alton Surgery is looking for a friendly and supportive Locum GP to cover 5 clinical sessions a week for a period of maternity leave for one of our partners, for a minimum of 14 weeks. The role will start mid January 2027. We pride ourselves on being a kind and compassionate practice, serving our small rural population of 2700 patients. You will be joining a well-established multidisciplinary team who put patient centred care at the forefront of their work.
The GP is required to work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care.
We are a well-established training practice with resident doctors and GP trainees. We also regularly host Keele University medical student placements.
The practice uses EMIS Web and AccuRx to manage our appointment triages, along with Ardens to efficiently manage patient care and demand. We regularly have high achievement across QOF and QIF along with high levels of screening and immunisation uptake.
Our team consists of 2 GP partners, 1 Practice Nurse and 1 CSA along with an excellent team of dispensers, administrative staff and management.
Through the ARRS scheme we also have access to an expansive MDT including First Contact Physio, Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Care Coordinator, Mental Health Practitioner, Counsellor, Health & Wellbeing Coach and a team of Social Prescribers.
We hold regular clinical meetings for all clinical members of staff to share ideas, best practice and support each other. We also hold regular meetings for the whole practice team to distribute information and encourage collaboration across the practice.
