Job summary

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites enthusiastic locum consultants in geriatric medicine to help grow our older person services. The Winchester site hosts 55 inpatient beds across three wards, with expanding community-based care plans and strong teaching opportunities with our affiliated medical school in Southampton.

We expect leadership, teamwork and a commitment to education. The role supports flexible working and on-call duties, and offers opportunities for honorary teaching

Qualifications

• CCT in General Internal Medicine or Geriatric Medicine, or within six months of achieving this.
• MBBS or equivalent; licence to practise and full GMC registration.
• MRCP (Paces).
• Eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of resident doctors and multidisciplinary staff to deliver high-quality care to inpatients, outpatients and emergencies.
• Drive service development across the Trust in collaboration with commissioners and clinical colleagues.
• Support education and lifelong learning; promote teaching and research initiatives.
• Participate in on-call rotas and flexible working arrangements where possible.
