Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking a locum consultant in geriatric medicine for six months to provide senior decision-making for frail patients across community, ambulatory and inpatient settings.

The role includes ED in-reach, support to a virtual frailty ward, MAU input, and a tailored inpatient job plan. Entry to the GMC Specialist Register for geriatric medicine is required.

Qualifications

• MRCP (UK) or equivalent required.
• Entry on GMC Specialist Register for geriatric medicine and general internal medicine (via CCT or CESR) within six months.
• Extensive registrar/consultant level experience.
• Experience in clinical audit and quality improvement.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Senior decision-making for frail patients in the community, ambulatory and inpatient settings.
• Sessional work in the ambulatory unit (AFU).
• Support to a virtual frailty ward and ED in-reach.
• Specialty input to the MAU and inpatient wards as planned.
• Lead and participate in service development and improvement.
