Job summary

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Locum Consultant in General Surgery with Colorectal interest to join the Princess Royal University Hospital in Farnborough. The role includes fixed-term 6 months, 40 hours per week, and a 1 in 10 weekend on-call rota; you will work within the Surgery, Theatres and Anaesthetics Care Group and contribute to teaching and patient care.

Qualifications

• General Surgery and colorectal experience is required; training in Upper GI or Breast would be welcomed.
• Average of 9 Programmed Activities of Direct Clinical Care; on-call duties and replacement role.
• Fixed-term 6 month contract with on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Provide and develop surgical services for King’s patients as part of the multidisciplinary team.
• Share 24/7 on-call cover and handover responsibilities.
• Lead teaching and supervision of junior staff and contribute to clinical governance.
