Venn Group's Public Sector Legal team seeks a Locum Contracts and Procurement Lawyer to support an East Midlands-based Council. The role is full-time preferred with remote work and occasional office attendance, initial 3 months with potential extension, and a rate up to £60 per hour Umbrella.

ASAP start with minimal notice period. The successful candidate will advise on a broad range of commercial contracts and procurement matters, ensure PA23 compliance, and draft/ negotiate procurement

• Significant Local Government contracts and procurement experience.
• Experience advising on procurements under the Procurement Act 2023.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload independently and provide practical legal advice.
• Qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive.

Locum Contracts and Procurement Lawyer - Full Time - Initial 3 Months+ - Remote Working - up to £60 per hour Umbrella

Venn Group's specialist Public Sector Legal team are currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Contracts and Procurement Lawyer to join an East Midlands-based Council on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Local Government Lawyer to support a busy legal team, advising on a broad range of commercial contracts and public procurement matters.

Role Details:

Position: Locum Contracts and Procurement Lawyer
Working Arrangement: Full Time preferred (37 hours), minimum 30 hours per week. Remote working, with occasional office attendance desirable but not essential
Duration: Initial 3 months with potential extension thereafter
Rate: up to £60 per hour Umbrella
Start: ASAP - Candidates must be available to start within one week's notice

Duties may include:

• Providing comprehensive legal advice on a broad range of commercial contracts and procurement matters
• Advising on public procurement processes, including procurements under the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23)
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, agreements and procurement documentation
• Providing clear and practical legal advice to officers and internal stakeholders
• Ensuring compliance with relevant procurement legislation and Local Government procedures

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive
• Significant Local Government contracts and procurement experience
• Demonstrable experience advising on procurements under the Procurement Act 2023
• Ability to manage a varied caseload independently and provide practical legal advice
