Job summary

Venn Group is recruiting a Locum Construction Lawyer to work with a Local Authority on a remote basis. This role offers an initial 3+ month contract with the possibility of extension and a rate of up to £65 per hour umbrella.

Flexible full-time or part-time working arrangements are considered, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction lawyer to join a well-regarded legal team.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience in Commercial Law.
• Experience of construction contracts is essential.
• Knowledge of local government law is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality legal advice to the Council on a range of construction and commercial agreements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a range of agreements including JCT, NEC and other standard-form contracts.
• Draft bespoke agreements, framework agreements, professional appointments, and other related agreements.
• Work closely with project managers, procurement, and other Council officers to provide practical and commercially focused legal advice.
• Support on wider commercial matters on behalf of the Council when required.

Venn Group's specialist legal team are currently working with a Local Authority to recruit for a Locum Construction Lawyer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Construction Lawyer to join a well-regarded legal team.

The Role:

Working Arrangement: Full Time or Part-time applicants considered

Duration: Initial 3 months with the possibility for extension

Rate: Up to £65 per hour - potential to be Outside IR35
