The position is to join our General Medicine service multidisciplinary team with close links to the Elderly Medicine Service. This post provides an exciting opportunity to join our growing General Medicine service with close links to the Elderly Medicine service. The General Medicine service will encompass a team of 3 Consultants, 1 Registrar and 4 juniors who will provide care to the following:
To lead and motivate the multidisciplinary team within his/her ward area in order to deliver effective patient-focused interventions and timely discharge planning.
To create and maintain excellent working relationships with their own team, management team and external agencies such as community providers and CCGs. This includes effective communication in line with the Trust values
To engage fully in development of services to meet the anticipated future challenges of the ageing population.
To lead on and drive forward innovations within service area.
To support consultant colleagues in the department in the delivery of their services where necessary.
