Job summary

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Cellular Pathology, is seeking a Locum Consultant Histopathologist for a 1-year fixed-term post at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. The appointee should be medically qualified with broad diagnostic histopathology and cytopathology experience and hold FRCPath or equivalent.

Qualifications

• FRCPath or show evidence of equivalent qualification.
• Full and Specialist registration (and with a license to practice) with the General Medical Council (GMC) or be eligible for registration within six months of interview. CCT date within 6 months
• Higher degree e.g., PhD/ MD submitted/awarded

Responsibilities

• Support the current delivery of histopathology and cytopathology services, including contribution to the development of these services at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
• There is scope for negotiation within the department as to which cancer site the appointee will act as lead in, however there is currently a need to cover the Gynecology screening and non-screening workload and MDT, non gynae cytology workload, GIT workload.
