Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Lawyer to join a Local Authority based in the South West on an interim basis.

This is a full-time position, offered for an initial term of 3 months with a likely extension. Occasional attendance for meetings is desirable, but the position can otherwise be worked remotely.

An hourly rate of up to £60 via umbrella is offered for this role.

Responsibilities include:

• Specialising in procurement, contracts, and development projects
• Drafting, negotiating, and advising on legal agreements to protect the Authority's interests
• Providing legal advice to in-house clients across all directorates
• Advising on contracts and procurement, especially in the post-Brexit environment
• Completing contracts on behalf of the Authority
• Advising on development projects
• Handling legal matters affecting a public body
