Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Cardiologist to join our dynamic Cardiology team. This full-time, fixed-term post provides cover for a consultant sabbatical and involves delivering high-quality clinical services across cardiology.

The post entails working with specialist nurses and consultants, running general and specialist outpatient clinics, and contributing to patient-centred care with a focus on improving waiting times and RTT

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise (UK).
• MRCP or equivalent.
• CCT in Cardiology (or within 6 months at time of interview) or inclusion on the Specialist Register.
• MD or PhD from UK University or equivalent.
• Completed basic training in management skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to clinical services across the Cardiology department.
• Work collaboratively with the wider cardiology team to enhance service provision and promote innovation.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary working with specialist nurses, physiologists, consultants and other members of the clinical team.
• Run General and specialist Cardiology outpatient clinics.
• Provide early diagnosis, treatment and appropriate follow-up for patients with cardiovascular disease.
• Contribute to improving waiting times, patient experience and Referral to Treatment (RTT) performance.
• Support the delivery of efficient, patient-centred outpatient services.

Education

Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
