Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Band 5 Pathology Laboratory Technician in Bedford, UK for a locum, full-time role. You will perform routine and specialised investigations, handle samples, and maintain accurate records using LIMS. You will support senior staff and contribute to quality control and audits.

The position offers ongoing hours, NHS or similar lab exposure, and opportunities to deepen your pathology skills in a dynamic biomedical science environment.

Qualifications

• Requires BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent and CPD.
• Experience in NHS or accredited laboratory preferred.
• Band 5 pathology experience desirable.
• Knowledge of UKAS ISO 15189 beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialised laboratory investigations in accordance with SOPs.
• Receive, prepare, process, and analyse patient samples with accuracy and timeliness.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and analysers.
• Participate in internal quality control, external quality assessment schemes and audits.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records using LIMS and digital platforms.
• Support senior Biomedical Scientists and managers to ensure workflow efficiency.
