Job summary

Locum Ready in Huddersfield is seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner for autonomous, sessional GP practice work with strong multidisciplinary support.

You will assess, diagnose, treat minor illness, manage chronic conditions, conduct triage, and provide independent prescribing and medication reviews within a well-organised primary care setting.

Sessions are flexible up to 4 days per week with morning and afternoon clinics, offering long-term block bookings and a structured workflow.

Qualifications

• NMC/HCPC registered as ANP with Level 7 qualification.
• Authorized to independently prescribe (V300).
• Recent experience in primary or urgent care settings.

Responsibilities

• Run minor illness and acute assessment clinics.
• Carry out long-term condition reviews as needed.
• Provide telephone triage and clinical decision-making.
• Prescribe independently and conduct medication reviews.
• Order and interpret investigations.
• Maintain clear, accurate clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with GPs, Practice Nurses and HCAs.

Locum Ready is looking for a Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to work for a GP practice in Huddersfield. This role is ideal for an autonomous clinician seeking flexible sessional work within a well-organised primary care environment, with full support from an established multidisciplinary team.

You will independently assess, diagnose and manage a range of presentations, deliver evidence-based care, and contribute to high-quality clinical outcomes. The practice offers a structured workflow, clear expectations and a supportive clinical setup to make each session efficient and manageable.

Key Responsibilities

• Running minor illness and acute assessment clinics
• Completing long-term condition reviews where required
• Telephone triage and clinical decision‑making
• Independent prescribing and medication reviews
• Ordering and interpreting investigations
• Clear, accurate clinical documentation
• Working collaboratively with GPs, Practice Nurses and HCAs

Requirements

• Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)

• Familiarity with common primary care systems (EMIS / SystmOne / Vision)
