Job summary

Locum Ready is looking for a Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to work for a GP practice in Birkenhead. This role is ideal for an autonomous clinician seeking flexible sessional work within a well‑organised primary care environment, with full support from an established multidisciplinary team.

You will independently assess, diagnose and manage a range of presentations, deliver evidence‑based care, and contribute to high‑quality clinical outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification (Level 7).
• Hold a V300 Independent Prescribing qualification.
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or walk‑in settings.
• Ability to work autonomously and safely.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Run minor illness and acute assessment clinics.
• Complete long‑term condition reviews where required.
• Telephone triage and clinical decision‑making.
• Independent prescribing and medication reviews.
• Ordering and interpreting investigations.
• Clear, accurate clinical documentation.
• Work collaboratively with GPs, Practice Nurses and HCAs.

• Independent prescribing and medication reviews
• Ordering and interpreting investigations
• Clear, accurate clinical documentation
• Working collaboratively with GPs, Practice Nurses and HCAs

Requirements

• Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)
• V300 Independent Prescribing
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or walk‑in settings
• Ability to work autonomously and safely
• Familiarity with common primary care systems (EMIS / SystmOne / Vision)
• Enhanced DBS

Working Pattern

• Up to 4 days per week, flexible sessions
• Morning and afternoon clinics available
• Opportunity for long‑term block bookings
