Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking an experienced Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work in a GP practice in Preston. The ACP will deliver autonomous clinical assessments, safe decision-making and efficient patient management within a structured primary care environment.

You will join an established multidisciplinary team, run your own clinics and support urgent and routine patient demand with flexible sessions up to 4 days per week, morning and afternoon slots, and long-term ongoing sessions.

Qualifications

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate).
• Background from Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar.
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred.
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings.
• Confident autonomous clinician with strong decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conducting acute and same-day access clinics
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations
• Telephone triage and clinical streaming
• Ordering and interpreting investigations
• Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified)
• Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows
• Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system
