Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work in a GP practice in Pontefract. You will run your own clinics within a multidisciplinary team, providing autonomous clinical assessments and safe decision-making for urgent and routine patient demand.

Sessions are flexible with morning and afternoon clinics; long-term ongoing slots are available, with strong admin support and clear care pathways to ensure smooth workflow.

Qualifications

• Must hold Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate).
• Background may be Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar.
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred.
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings.
• Confident autonomous clinician with strong decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct acute and same-day access clinics.
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations.
• Telephone triage and clinical streaming.
• Ordering and interpreting investigations.
• Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified).
• Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows.
• Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system.
